Southern Charm and Horses

Inspired from another photographer, this teenager wanted to capture her equestrian connection.

Manny and J.

Mom and daughter walk horses down the lane on a easy-going Georgia Sunday evening.

This was one of my absolute favorite shots that evening.

Manny and J. with a great connection.

J. with a relaxed pose.

J. posing next to the fence posts for this picture.

J. continued to smile, even when it was about to rain.

That fence seemed to go on forever! It looked wonderful against the changing trees.

This oak tree is slowly rotting out from the inside. It provided the perfect back drop and leaning prop.

I redid this picture after including it in the sneak peak post that I do for those I am working with. I am much more proud of the skin and lighting touch ups that were completed prior to this picture being published to the web.

This picture of J. turned out and it amazed me. The lighting in the sky was cloudy and past 7 P.M. The color in this photo turned out. By accident, J's mom took a picture of her on her cell phone while I was snapping a final picture at the same time. Little did she realize that it really provided a great extra light to capture the moment.

Adventures in Photography - Baby's Smash Cake

Copyright by Regina Renfro Photography

Who doesn't love a cute baby? I have had the opportunity to photograph this sweet family over the summer. Afterward, they invited me back for another shoot. This particular shoot had multiple parts. I was asked to take pictures of Baby Evie's Smash Cake. What was interesting about this shoot was that there were a few added friends that came into the pictures with some monitoring. It was funny to watch her facial expressions because Evie really wasn't bothered by the dogs' presence. She continued to eat her cake and enjoy it.

As you can tell, the Smash Cake was a hit with Evie and the dogs who joined the party!

Family Photography - Capturing Three Generations and Early Fall

My friend and I had been talking since May about us taking pictures. I had taken pictures with her before of her Father's 60th Birthday Celebration two years ago and her Baby Shower (which I still owe her edited pics of those...ahem). For this shoot, there were specific details that she wanted to work out and and she wanted to make sure that things were just right on her end. We had to postpone the shoot due to the amount we had going on within our own schedules.

I was excited to get to work with her and her family because we have known each other almost a decade! I hope you are as excited as I was when I reviewed the pictures. There were so many pictures that I captured, but only selected my absolute favorites. I am still editing some at the time this is posted.

Stone Mountain - Capturing Youth

Copyright by Regina Renfro Photography
One of my favorite shoots was at Stone Mountain with my friend and her daughter, who was home from college.  I had been there seven years before for a Maternity Shoot that by the fabulous M.L.L.took of my first pregnancy.

The shoot had a few challenges to conquer. The lighting was overcast and we had to dodge some of the cars and the line of after school children groups that were hiking through the section where we were taking pictures. My friend's daughter was driving back to college the next morning and we were on a time crunch because I had another obligation that evening. We were able to squeeze it in between 4:45 P.M. and 5:30 P.M. on a Wednesday afternoon after working all day!

With all of the challenges, I was so excited with the end results.

Family Photography - Capturing the End of Summer with Joyful Family

This picture was edited by using Lightroom and Photoshop. It is by far one of my absolute favorites ever!
One of my first experiences practicing was with one of my co-workers and her beautiful family. I loved how her pictures turned out. It took a while to capture the smiles and to have everyone looking at the camera. There were a few bloopers (which they have copies) where someone in the family may have been trying to encourage the two year old to look at me. Still, the morning was beautiful and the outcome of the pictures were great.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Family Photography - Capturing Fall

I had the privilege to photography one of my friends and her family for some of her family pictures and also for her blog. Shannon Smith is another blogger who created The HomeLife Blog. As an American Veteran, she recently finished her degree in Interior Design and is enjoying spending time with her family.
